how to get around in manila

so you're in manila... how do you get from one place to another?!
well, there are a couple of ways to do so...

1. TAXI - if you're at the airport and the hotel doesn't have a shuttle to pick you up, i suggest that you should just take a taxi! hahaha. [make sure the meter is switched on, you don't want to get ripped off!] - note: if you convert the bill into dollars, it'll be cheap, cheap for foreigners that is.
if i remember correctly the meter should be set at an initial price of Php30

2. JEEPNEY / JEEP / PASSENGER UTILITY JEEPNEY (PUJ) - yes the jeepney. one must try riding the jeepney! even if you inhale all the smog from the cars, it's still an experience, that's only in the philippines!

3. MRT / LRT1 / LRT2 - these 3 are all above ground metros. JAMPACKED during rush hours. LRT2 is the newest line. all 3 have different routes so better check out your location first.

4. TRICYCLE - yes the tricycle! another must try mode of transportation! go go try it out. =)

5. KALESA - the horse drawn carriage, you can ride one in historical philippine sites like intramuros. You can find kalesas in other places like tondo, luneta, roxas blvd (near Aristocrat restaurant)

6. BUS - you can hitch a ride on a bus almost anywhere. there are no exact time schedules though haha. better if you ask someone which bus you should take when you're here.

**beware of pickpockets hahaha. i know you've probably heard this warning oh so many times..

more to come =)
